Fishing for bream at dogday
Published: 2011. October 26. | Source: Gergely Talabér | News

The Fall comes. I dont think about the weather of course. The calendar shows it to me, it is the firs Saturday of September. I discussed with my friends that we spend a day at the lake od Fehérvárcsurgó with fishing. I did not have a chance for fishing all day for a while, I was not able and I did not want to say no for such an invitation like this. I chose fishing with float, while the others tryed to catch the carps of the lake with the traditional fishing style of the carp fishing. And what was the result? If you are curious, please join me!

At last, the right groundbait!

Now I had the right groundbait for breams. I did not cheat, I did not lie! I mixed four pound Tímár Mix Bream+ groundbait. It's smell was wonderful, the tasty caramel and perfect gingerbread. How delicious! I add 1/3 oz TímárMix Dévér liquid flavour for each two pounds of the groundbait. Before I effused the flavour, I attenuated it with some water. Is is easier to mix it with the groundbait, if it is not so dense I think. I added around 10 oz sweetkorn with its juice. It is also a good luring material, and the carp also likes it, so they can find something in hte initial bailing-in.

The balls
are made,
ready
for the shot.

Some creativity is helpful. If it cannot be twinged, put some stones around it.

Here they comes.

I mixed the groundbait carefully, than I left it in a bucket under the lid. While the groundbait picked up the moisture, I prepared my rod and the rig for the Breams. The rod was the Classic Bream Match at this time, 13 feet long and its action was medium. Its spine is hard, but the tip is very sensitive. It is easy to reach the fishes from greater distances, but there is no chance to hurt the mouth of the beautiful bream's, when catching them. I did not lost any fish thans to the good rod and all tighting into the fishes were successful.

The main
parts of the rig.

The double handle reel
did the job very well.

The reel was the Energoteam Fighter Match size 30, the line was 0.18 mm (8 lbs) Power Waggler. I was met with the water first time, so I absolutely did not know, what is the ideal distance for reaching the fish, therefore I choose a harder, thicker line. The power Waggler was perfect for this task. The reel has durable fighting drag. I used the same reel type with fighting drag, so it was quite familiar to me. My favorite is the front drag. I think, it is the best solution, because is is smoot, simple and strong. The lifetime is much more than the reels with rear drag. The drag discs are much bigger, therefore the dragpower will be more reliable. But back to my new reel. It has a somooth drag to, and what I like mostly, shallow spool.

In case of the slider, the best if
the main lead contains 4 or less shots.

Double swivel and the bait indicator.

I tryed to guessm where can I find the fishes, I mean in the water column. I knew that the lake of Fehérvárcsurgó is not an artificial water (athough it was made in the decades of the 1970'), 20-30 yards fom the coast, the water can be 8-10 feet deep. If the fishes are in midwater, the fixed float rig can be working. But if not, than I have to use the slider. I choose the second one, but at this pont, I had two new question. Use a waggler with some lead weight inside the float or coose the slider and put all of the lead shots to the line? I choose the second one again, because I saw that there is much bleaks on hte surface, and I wanted to brake this water layer fast, before they take my bait. But let's see, how did I set my rig to solve the problem.

The rig

The fishing was interesting in the morning. The only I can say that I was a little bit unprepared. First I tied the flip stop on a wrong way, it was not hard enough and after some time it started to slide on teh amin line. Therefore the slider was not able to be adjusted correctly. My friends encouraged me, I will catch some bleaks for sure if my hook spend more time in the water than 10 seconds. And they was right. My second fault trough the morning was the wrong casting technique. The weighted waggler must be casted a little bit otherwise than the slider. The moves must be excersised frequently unte we start to feel the right force and the perfect rhythm. But in the meantime, only to see that I cast, wint the line back to the spool, extrictate the line from the tangle and then again cast-wind back and extrictate. Not so much fun. I spent hours with this, but if we start to feel the perfect moves, it will be like cycling.

It is a true versatile rod.

And the technical details.

Nobody can be always successful, but therefore nobody can be unsuccessful neighter. If somebody exercise frequently, he or she will be successful for sure. My hand started to learn the moves, and I could cathc some fishes in the early hours of the afternoon. And the funny comments, just like the tangles were stopped too. I could catch the span like breams from the initial bailing-in, sometimes a bigger one. But something was strange today. This was my second waggler fishing day without any winds. You can imagine, I was very surprised! Because here in hungary, the wind is always there, I cant remember just a couple of days without it. The surface of the lake was like a mirror without moves. The sun was shining (this was the second strange thing).

The three pinkies on the size 16
Drennan Fine Maggot hook was the best.

Serial fish from
the middle of the afternoon.

The fine fishing techniques gave a new evidence again. It is true continuously, what my friend said: „there is no chance to go home with empty hands, when you fishing the match or feeder". To be honest, the lake and the landscape were far enough for me. We had the best weather for the last fishing day of the summer. The colder days are coming soon and we will fishing for pike and zander. Finaly we can catch our favorite carps at daytime, without dogdays. Of course, I will use the match. Please, join me next time too!

Life is everywhere.

The landscape is beautiful, it is not a surprise, why is it so popular!

A Perfect Match: ET Wizard Classic 2,10 and Wizard Spin 3000
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

Under the colorful coat of this rod, you find a true workhorse. It is indeed a slim rod made of IM8 carbon with enough power in reserve. The neoprene handle is a delight to touch. During fishing, the rod becomes your elongated forearm, which helps you detect every shy bite and vibration of your lure. Although it is a strong fishing rod, it is not heavy at all. Yes, I am talking about the latest spinning rod family of Energo Team, namely, Wizard Classic Jig and Drop Shot rods. The...

In my previous article, I mentioned that Drop Shot rods are one of my favorites, and their performance cannot be overestimated. This might sound biased, but trust me; I know what I’m talking about. After months of using these rods, I can safely say that they satisfy all my needs when it comes to ultra light spinning. Fishing with little soft baits cannot be more enjoyable, and, of course, let’s not forget about wobblers either. I’m not exaggerating –...

Learning more about Nase and Rubin Bolo Rods
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

t Nowadays, it is not easy for a new Bolognese rod to make a name for itself. It should be either at a reasonable price or of outstanding quality to win anglers’ sympathy. Unfortunately, these two criteria rarely meet. Energo Team’s Rubin Bolo has been widely used for years not just by Hungarian but foreign anglers, too. However, ET Nase Bolo, which made its debut in spring 2015, is considered a novelty.   Rubin Bolo is a real workhorse. Nase Bolo,...

This year was full of surprises for devoted bolognese anglers. As I’m a bolognese angler too, I feel lucky to have got to know two excellent bolognese rods within six months. We have just introduced Nase Bolo, and now we have another rod that makes its debut. I can safely say that this is a magnificient rod too. Its price category reflects its unique features.  If I had to rank Energo Team’s rods I would definitely put Blade-Tanaka-Nase bolognese rods to the first three...
