The feeder and the pike
Published: 2012. January 27. | Source: Gergely Talabér | News

The true hot summertime arrived at the last weeks of August. People and and animals went to the shadows of the trees as well, to find a little bit colder place and to spend as less time under the shining Sun as possible. It looked as if the water was boiling thanks to the fishes, who came up from the deeper - less oxygen - water layers to the upper, warmer water just below the surface. The just want some fresh air.

My first pike was caught with feeder rod.

In these times, it is almost impossible to catch some nice carp on a quick fishing (to be honest, I caught only few bigger fish during dogday), if we want to be successful, we should give a try at dawn or at dusk, when the air is coldish and the fish are ready to eat. Let’s be honest, many many times, we can’t choose the right weather. But just because of this, should we give up and wait until the conditions will be perfect? Of course not! We have other possibilities than catching carp, let’s fishing for silverfish!

Just a quick shot.

Go and grow!

Breams and roaches can be caught easily in these times as well. Let’s find a nice tree with great shade on the waterfront and the fishing can be continue. I just started on this way on a beautiful, shiny day of our holiday, to catch some nice fish from our hotel’s lake.

Mixed groundbait, but for pikes?

The favorite bait of the day was three pinkies.

It was important from the first time, to choose the best, easiest equipment for the holiday. I took my favorite fishing line, the Competition Feeder with me of course. I choose one of my other favorite reel, the Power Match. The size of the reel was 40. It is fast and durable, really good choice for any light coarse fishing technique (it was designed to be a mid level float fishing reel with good price originally, but I prefer to use it for feeder fishing as well).

Simple feeder rig with an anti tangle,
it is perfect to use if I want fishing closer.

I gave some try
with other baits as well..

The groundbait was a little bit difficult, you are curious maybe why? I have only the Carp Expert Golden Carp in my bag. And this is not the ideal bait for silverfish, or is it? To be honest, I accidentally left home all the baits for bream. I tried to mix the ground bait with less water to keep it dry. My theory was that on this was the bait will open at the upper level of the water.

Nice small bream on the light feeder's hook.
I used smaller hooks.

The Fine Maggot is lighter,
while the Carbon Feeder is a strong one.

I always want to make sure that my theory is working or not. At his time, I want to make sure that I cant catch carp thanks to the warm weather. I made a quick bailing-in with some cast at the middle of the lake. I used one single piece Carp Expert Roach-bream named pellet. I but pinkies to the picker's small hook.

The Competition Feeder
showed its versatility this time also.

The small silverfish takes
showed well even on the middle tip.

The minutes were going and going. Once upon a time I decided to change the bait and I started to reel up the line. After some seconds, it became hard to reel, I felt that its a fish, roach maybe I think. In 15 yards to the waterfront, I noticed that the body of my roach is too long and slim. Furthermore it had too big tooths, so it cant be a roach, it was a pike.

I like this durable reel.

From that time, I was very careful, my hook was size 16, the hooklenght was 0.12 milimeters. Fortunately the hook was caught at the edge of its jaw. There was no chance to bite the line. The brake was not worked so hard, the rod took almost all the movements of the fish. At last I was able to cath it, and hold it in my hands. I had no scale, but based on the tape measure it was 46 centimeter long. Hence it won the "Biggest Pike in my life – with feeder -!" title!

The light feeder has just
small rings, like a float rod.

I took some nice picture, then I put it back to the water. I worming my hook and cast it next to the other one bailing-in, which was placed closer to the waterfront. The only I can say that I did not caught any carp on that day, but more silverfish! The lake has some beautiful bream!

It is worth to use the line clip on the spool.

The ground bait for carp worked well in catching silverfish. I caught the mid size fishes one by one. The peace of the lake was deep and calming. I looks I was the only guy around the water.

I invited some other fishes to be my guest for a photo.

I spent all the day in nice surroundings, I really enjoyed it, despite there was very hot. I decided to catch predators at home using the right tackle. I caught pike with pole and with feeder too. I hope that Fortuna will hear my thought and gave me a little luck. Join me at that time too!

A Perfect Match: ET Wizard Classic 2,10 and Wizard Spin 3000
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

Under the colorful coat of this rod, you find a true workhorse. It is indeed a slim rod made of IM8 carbon with enough power in reserve. The neoprene handle is a delight to touch. During fishing, the rod becomes your elongated forearm, which helps you detect every shy bite and vibration of your lure. Although it is a strong fishing rod, it is not heavy at all. Yes, I am talking about the latest spinning rod family of Energo Team, namely, Wizard Classic Jig and Drop Shot rods. The...

Ultra Light Dream: ET Wizard Drop Shot Spinning Rod and Wizard Spin Reel

In my previous article, I mentioned that Drop Shot rods are one of my favorites, and their performance cannot be overestimated. This might sound biased, but trust me; I know what I’m talking about. After months of using these rods, I can safely say that they satisfy all my needs when it comes to ultra light spinning. Fishing with little soft baits cannot be more enjoyable, and, of course, let’s not forget about wobblers either. I’m not exaggerating –...

Learning more about Nase and Rubin Bolo Rods
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

t Nowadays, it is not easy for a new Bolognese rod to make a name for itself. It should be either at a reasonable price or of outstanding quality to win anglers’ sympathy. Unfortunately, these two criteria rarely meet. Energo Team’s Rubin Bolo has been widely used for years not just by Hungarian but foreign anglers, too. However, ET Nase Bolo, which made its debut in spring 2015, is considered a novelty.   Rubin Bolo is a real workhorse. Nase Bolo,...

Bolognese again! The New Tanaka Bolognese has Arrived

This year was full of surprises for devoted bolognese anglers. As I’m a bolognese angler too, I feel lucky to have got to know two excellent bolognese rods within six months. We have just introduced Nase Bolo, and now we have another rod that makes its debut. I can safely say that this is a magnificient rod too. Its price category reflects its unique features.  If I had to rank Energo Team’s rods I would definitely put Blade-Tanaka-Nase bolognese rods to the first three...
