Mann's Swimmin Grub
Tom Mann founded his artificial bait manufacturing company in America in 1956.
Many people may not have noticed this information... but they have noticed that Mann's Bait Company uniquely produces artificial lures for nearly every type of fishing worldwide.
With the creation of the Swimmin Grub, they developed a true wonder weapon.
Its cylindrical, worm-like body ends with a huge shovel-shaped tail, which even the largest zander cannot resist.
When retrieved at the right speed, it creates waves in the water that entice nearby predators to bite.
And what is the right speed?
It is necessary to distinguish between stillwater and flowing water.
- In flowing water, we may have an easier time, as the current generates enticing tail movements even with a bait held in place. Here, the biggest challenge is choosing the size of the lead head. At what speed does it sink back to the bottom? How easily can it be moved against the current?
Especially effective in flowing water.
- In still water, opinions vary. Some believe that a steady, slow retrieval is effective, while others swear by a sawtooth lifting technique, achieved either with the fishing rod or by quickly reeling in and then stopping.
In both cases, it should be retrieved faster than traditional shads or twisters.
Placement of the jig head is also crucial. Choose a hook that is large enough so that the bend reaches almost to the end of the body, allowing for perfect hooking while maintaining the ideal movement of the lure.
