Feeder fishing during the night
Published: 2022. September 02. | Source: Energofish | Articles

The Southern Great Plain has been suffering from months of drought, which was accompanied by the heat affecting the entire country in June, and the temperature is pleasant only between the evening and 8 in the morning. So, I gave up the usual, comfortable daytime fishing. However, I have to go fishing, so I turned my attention to the evening and night hours.

I bought a few packs of Night Wasp light sticks from the classic and feeder versions, I found a Kamasaki Thin Feeder light stick holder adapter in the bottom of my box, I also took this with me, as it turned out later, that was a good decision, because it fitted exactly to the stronger tip of the Universal feeder rod and a 4, 5 mm diameter light stick as well. I don't like to constantly illuminate the tips with a lamp, I think it can disturb the fish, so I think the spot light of the light stick is better. I only turn on the headlamp when I am pumping. I solve the mandatory lighting of the fishing spot with a camping lamp, directing its light backwards. I quickly packed the equipment and went hunting for night carp! I arrived a little late, so I prepared the groundbaits in the dark. Carps cannot resist fermented groundbaits in the summer heat. I opened a package of natural and a package of honey-pineapple fermented food, broke it through a sieve and mixed the two, then added two handfuls of lactic acid corn. I did not have to do anything else, since these are ready-made groundbaits, you don't need and shouldn't wet them anymore! Benzár Mix Fermented groundbaits are characterized by intense taste, colour and strong clouding ability. The midi mango-butyric acid version of the Pro Corn Wafters was placed on the bait spike, this was the size I needed to exclude the greedy breams.

After a quick preparation, I already had a rig and a rod ready for fishing.

I selected the right size light sticks for the tips.

The Night Wasp Feeder light stick in size S was placed on the finer tip.

The Kamasaki Thin Feeder light stick holder in size M was placed on the stronger tip, then I inserted a Night Wasp 4.5 mm diameter light stick. The light stick works as usual, before you put it on the tip, you have to break it and shake it, so it starts to light up nicely.

The tip simply snaps into place.

The light stick does not hinder the casts! I was a little afraid of it, whether it would cause problems while casting, but I was pleasantly disappointed, I threw the 80 meters as easily as before. The basket went nicely until the clip, slowing it down with the raised tip, I was able to place it to its feet as quietly as possible during feeding.

At the beginning of the fishing, I fed the spot with a ribbed basket, in front of the quiet, far side of the lake with a 4.20 No Limit Feeder. For fishing, I cast with a 3.90 Universal feeder and a 45g method basket.

Filled basket. That went for fish!

Waiting to be received.

The first bite came with a fine drop, the fish came towards me, I caught up with a few turns and at the end of patient pumping, a "five" mirror was placed in the cradle.

The mirror carp was returned to the lake, and then there was a quiet wait with a lagging fish, which was broken by a strong bite after a narrow hour.

The headlamp is necessary for landing. I use an Outdoor Hydra with satisfaction.

A nice common carp was landed, a match for the mirror carp.

After the second carp, I felt that the night I came for had paid off, two nice carp, good bites, pleasant weather, I went home in a good mood.

Clonking on River Tisza

River Tisza has been a part of my life from the very beginning and still is to this day. As a child, I learned to fish on this river, and its port was an iconic gathering spot at the Szeged riverbank before weekend parties, as well as a great meeting place. My workplace is also along this river: a traditional fish restaurant. It’s one of my favorite fishing waters. I’d like to clarify upfront that I don’t consider myself a big predator-fish angler. I enjoy sitting in my boat and...

The Carp Expert Double Tip rods have become extremely popular among anglers due to their versatility and the endless possibilities they offer, making them one of the most favored rods in the assortment. I personally experienced this versatility with the redesigned Max2 Double Tip rods, as one day I was fishing for bream with a long line and a 75g feeder, and two days later, on a different section of river, I was battling wild river fish with the same rod, fighting in the dense vegetation in...
