The lake's gift
Published: 2012. January 25. | Source: Gergely Talabér | News

The true Fall arrived in the first days of October. The air was chill and heavy due to the fog. The wind was cold, I felt it on my face, when I was cycling to my hometown’s lake. The trees were swaying in the wind, which was getting stronger and stronger trough the morning. The king’s city is not a calm place neither in history nor in meteorology manner.

The mid days were good, however the
mornings getting more and more colder.

Hopefully the waterfront was quite empty, I found good lee under a big willow tree, so I dropped my pack, and started to make it more comfortable. I saw in the window last day evening that I have to forgot float fishing due to the strong wind. I strongly prefer the light tackle, the method feeder was the best choice to solve the problem. I used it several times, when the wind was strong, It works perfectly in extreme contitions.

Some groundbait.

And after mixing them. The smell was really tasty!

My favorite rod is the ET Competition Feeder, I always keep some space in my rodcase. To be honest, it is very slim so do not requires so much. It is a light feeder, very sensitive. I choose the ET Excalibur Feeder-t for second rod. I was curious for this medium rod for a long time. It has a surf handle, so it's easy to keep it clean. I decided to use a method rig on the Excalibur, UI like it, because it is easy to make it while it's very effective.

My simple stance.

I was excited to try it out!

The simplicity is very important for me! The baits were maggot on the light and pellets on the medium one. I like fishing with pellets, it is easy to use either for feeding, or for bait. It dissolves slowly, can be used for a long time and there is many variations of tastes to choose from. Strictly speaking it is a very durable and versatile bait.

I take the first!

Nice fish got my pellet.

Why I like the method rig is the same reason as well. I did not like method leads for a long time, but then it was enough to try it once, and my opinion was changed completely. The first thin is that the lead is plate shaped. This part turns down at casting and arrives first in the water. It is very practical, because the water do not beats the groundbait, therefore we are able to use drier mixes, which opens faster and easier at the bottom. The second thing is it is easy to load. Of course you can buy the loader, but it is also easy to use our own hands. Just pick up some groundbait or glued pellets and push the lead down. It is not necessary to push it hard, the bait will stay on it well.

I always use the line clip on the reel's spool
The accurate initial bailing in is very important!

Portrait at
breakfast.

The first take arrived after 10 minutes fishing, the owner was a nice carp. He was fighting well on the hook, although much stronger rig was used on the Excalibur Feeder as for the Competition Feeder, I did not want to deal with the fish so hard. I don't like to hurt them over the necessary. I always become sad when I catch a fishie with scared mouth.

I used a single float slider adapter, to join
the feeder, and I put a single
stopper to save the knot on the swivel.

This was, how the method
rig was looking on
the Excalibur Feeder.

The second competitor was a carp too on my light rod. I was strongly concentrating on the line, because I have very thin hooklenght. It was only 0.12 in diameter, with my favorite Drennan Carbon Feeder hook in size 14 at the end of it. It is small, but very strong hook. The fighting took more time, the fish always took some line from the spool, but the rod and the reel also worked well. After 45 minutes from the first cast, I got my second carp. In the meantime I catch some nice bream and roach as well.

light feeder.

And the take with it.
It is always a great experience with
this light rod!

The angles sitting next to me catch only one carp in this time. They were fishing on the traditional way with heavy rods, heavy leads and using thick line with big hooks. I am more and more certain that the lighter tackle is the better choice. More anglers uses lighter rods and more precise reels, while the strong rods were going out from the public awareness (of course there are situations when we need these rods for catfish for example).

A beauty again
next to
my camera.

He likes corn plus maggots
sandwich, to be honest it is
one of the great combinations ever.

Eventually the morning was very good, although the wind was terrible strong (again). I was happy when I was arriving at home, and just checking the pictures while I was drinking a cup of hot tee. The weather is getting more colder, but I am sure, this session will not be the last at this Fall. Join me next time!

A Perfect Match: ET Wizard Classic 2,10 and Wizard Spin 3000
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

Under the colorful coat of this rod, you find a true workhorse. It is indeed a slim rod made of IM8 carbon with enough power in reserve. The neoprene handle is a delight to touch. During fishing, the rod becomes your elongated forearm, which helps you detect every shy bite and vibration of your lure. Although it is a strong fishing rod, it is not heavy at all. Yes, I am talking about the latest spinning rod family of Energo Team, namely, Wizard Classic Jig and Drop Shot rods. The...

Ultra Light Dream: ET Wizard Drop Shot Spinning Rod and Wizard Spin Reel
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

In my previous article, I mentioned that Drop Shot rods are one of my favorites, and their performance cannot be overestimated. This might sound biased, but trust me; I know what I’m talking about. After months of using these rods, I can safely say that they satisfy all my needs when it comes to ultra light spinning. Fishing with little soft baits cannot be more enjoyable, and, of course, let’s not forget about wobblers either. I’m not exaggerating –...

Learning more about Nase and Rubin Bolo Rods
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

t Nowadays, it is not easy for a new Bolognese rod to make a name for itself. It should be either at a reasonable price or of outstanding quality to win anglers’ sympathy. Unfortunately, these two criteria rarely meet. Energo Team’s Rubin Bolo has been widely used for years not just by Hungarian but foreign anglers, too. However, ET Nase Bolo, which made its debut in spring 2015, is considered a novelty.   Rubin Bolo is a real workhorse. Nase Bolo,...

Bolognese again! The New Tanaka Bolognese has Arrived
Published: 2015. September 30. | Source: Energo Team | News

This year was full of surprises for devoted bolognese anglers. As I’m a bolognese angler too, I feel lucky to have got to know two excellent bolognese rods within six months. We have just introduced Nase Bolo, and now we have another rod that makes its debut. I can safely say that this is a magnificient rod too. Its price category reflects its unique features.  If I had to rank Energo Team’s rods I would definitely put Blade-Tanaka-Nase bolognese rods to the first three...
