The rapid growth of LED technology has seen many battery-operated fishing floats appear on the market in the last decade.
Most of them are universal and not constructed for a specific method of fishing. Many were too large in the beginning to carry button cell batteries and were recommended mainly for predator fishing.
As the technology improved the floats became smaller, but makers still kept the universal design to cover a wider range of markets. In 2018, Hungarian tackle supplier Energofish, introduced a new float range with multi-color antennas for the specialized carp lifting method and iBite models for Zander.

Energofish Product Development Manager Sándor Sujkó told Angling International: “They both became popular in our domestic markets and are now becoming accepted all over Europe. For the lifting method, they are perfect and are really durable, working for over 30 hours with a single CR435 lithium battery.
“Following their success at the 2018 and 2019 EFTTEX shows, many people asked for similar floats which can be used for different methods of fishing like a classic pole or bolo floats. For this year's exhibition, Energofish was ready to meet these demands."

These traditional-style pole floats are equipped with the most modern and durable LED technology. Three models are available to cover the basic needs of anglers who like pole fishing at night. All three come in two models – a small variant with an adaptor applied for CR311 lithium batteries and a larger model for CR435 batteries. All floats are made of high-quality balsa wood and the components are carefully selected. The fiberglass stems are smooth and straight.
The structure is simple and follows the classic pole float styles and the needs of the market. The key element is the antenna, which combines old-school and modern technology. The bottom is connected to the body in a classic chemical light stick style. Inside the antenna is a perfectly shaped space that can be used to include the CR311 battery in small sizes and the CR435 for larger ones. After fitting the battery, all you have to do is fit the LED cap on and your float is ready to fish. To switch it off, simply remove the LED cap.
