About the Product:
We’re not talking about a brand-new invention here — this special insect has long been known as an outstanding bait in catfish fishing. As many angling books confirm, the mole cricket is one of the most effective retro baits available. So why is it considered innovative now? Simply because, until recently, it was nearly impossible to purchase commercially. If it was available at all, it sold out quickly and came with a hefty price tag.
Thanks to modern technology, mole crickets can now be bred artificially. This makes it possible to produce larger quantities in a relatively short time. These farm-raised insects are carefully dried and preserved in a way that retains their essential nutritional value almost completely.
Since they are dried and no longer alive, they are very easy to store and transport, requiring no special containers or care. No more digging through compost heaps or manure piles. And no more risk of the harmful fluids found in live insects getting on your skin or in your eyes — all those risks are eliminated with the dried version.
The dried mole cricket is now a convenient and highly effective bait. Its vacuum-sealed packaging makes it suitable for postal or courier delivery.
Nutritional Information:
Tested in internationally accredited laboratories, this product meets all relevant Hungarian animal feed regulations. The results clearly show a high protein content of 51.40% and a low fat content of 25.38%.
It’s made using a special heat-treatment sun-drying process, which removes moisture while preserving the rich nutritional content — making it an irresistible bait for serious anglers.
These dried mole crickets are 2.5 to 3 cm long — fully grown specimens. Each jar contains a mix of whole insects and smaller pieces.
Storage Instructions:
Store in a cool, dry place. Thanks to its high nutritional value and preserved state, it keeps for a long time. You can even refrigerate or freeze it for up to one year.
How to Use:
Best used with fine-gauge hooks. Can be mounted directly on the hook or presented on bait bands to reduce the chance of breaking off during casting. You can also attach multiple insects using the traditional hair rig method. Works perfectly in PVA bags, ensuring the bait stays on the hook even at long casting distances.
Dried mole crickets are naturally buoyant, so there's no need for additional pop-ups. When crushed, they also make an excellent additive for groundbait or for filling method feeders close to the hook.
