The updated Concourse Method 8500 reel is now available in a QD, i.e., quick-drag version. However, since thousands of anglers have chosen this reliable model over the past few years and we received a lot of favorable feedback regarding the original drag system, we want to cater to every preference. For those who prefer a more precise, micro-adjustable drag, the slower drag knob is available for purchase separately.

This means the very same reel can be used with either the factory quick drag or, by acquiring the additional drag knob, with the slower, more precise drag system. It all comes down to the angler's preference!
