Bolognese again! The New Tanaka Bolognese has Arrived
Published: 2015. September 30. | Source: Energo Team | News

This year was full of surprises for devoted bolognese anglers. As I’m a bolognese angler too, I feel lucky to have got to know two excellent bolognese rods within six months.

We have just introduced Nase Bolo, and now we have another rod that makes its debut. I can safely say that this is a magnificient rod too. Its price category reflects its unique features.

If I had to rank Energo Team’s rods I would definitely put Blade-Tanaka-Nase bolognese rods to the first three places. I would add that the first two rods are a joy to fish with, but Nase Bolo does not fall short of the other two rods when it comes to effectiveness. As I mentioned in my article on Nase, it is a great rod that can be used even in fishing tournaments.

My relationship with Tanaka was love at first sight.

Tanaka is a modern, easy-to-handle rod made of IM10 carbon. I should note that it is impossible to manufacture a rod of this quality at less expense. Many of you might know that here you don’t pay for brands... Tanaka Bolo is available in three lengths (5-6-7 m) offering enough variety for everyday and professional fishing.

Light and slim handle, whose weight is only 222 gm!

My 5 m long Tanaka, which is the subject of my test, is equipped with 7 ultra light SIC guides. The design and position of the guides do not allow the sections to clog up when they are pushed together. I believe that in the case of a modern fishing rod with a thin blank the 144 cm transport length is normal and acceptable.

There’s no need to be ashamed. The new bolognese rod advertizes itself conspicuously.

The protection of the thin, vulnerable guides is guaranteed so that they
do not get damaged during transportation.

There are 7 ultra light guides on the 5 m version of Tanaka.
They offer perfect weight distribution, which affects the tip of bolognese rods.

In order to prevent the handle from being too heavy, Tanaka has plate reel seat. It is ideal for a 2000-4000 size reels.

Quality plate reel seats have rubber pads inside, which offers stable position
for normal sized reels.

A unique solution on bolognese rods, which has no alternative so far.

Basic parameters on the butt of the rod.

Many people think that bolognese fishing is only one of many floating methods. It’s a piece of cake like cycling. We just simply cannot forget how to do it. Anyway, everybody knows how to float fish. Well, the truth of the matter is that the art of float fishing does not come naturally.
Without practice it doesn’t go that smoothly at all. Control over the rig and the bait is a wonderful thing. The float reports on all the movements that happen at the bottom of the water, which is often 6-7 m deep. Therefore, a good angler must know every vibration of the float.
If the Fates allow, I spend my time bolognese fishing in the summer. I always try to store up every sign of the float. After some practice I can cast accurately and lead the float in the right rhythm. My catches work up my enthusiasm for more practice and action.
It is widely assumed that you don’t have to carry too many things with you when you go spinning. I can tell you that bolognese fishing needs even less tackle. Many times, when I go to the water only to try out something, I don’t even take any groundbaits with me. I usually take a fishing rod, some spare floats, sinkers and hooks plus a can of sweet corn. This is it.

Just to make sure that my floats remain intact, I need a good float box.
For me a good float is like a wobbler for spinning anglers.

My 15-year-old son and the Danube. Sometimes he fishes for hours without success waiting for a bite.
In the meantime, he is thinking, experimenting and contemplating the water.
This becomes a routine during the years.

Besides our rivers, there are many places where using bolognese rods is absolutely necessary.
This is a place where two small rivers unite. The water is still and the shore is overgrown with wild plants.
You definitely need a long bolognese rod in places like this!

A shining roach from the green world.

But let’s get back to Tanaka. I would say that you can always rely on this rod when you want to carry out your plans. This is thanks to the unique features of IM10 carbon, which makes every minute of fishing a pleasure, irrespective of weather conditions.

A perch from my tiny small river, which is as hot as a geyser in some places.

He brought some of his friends with him.

Thanks to the high quality carbon playing small fish is a joy. On the other hand, leading bigger fish causes no difficulties to the rod as it becomes stiff quickly enough.

Fantastic action that can resist high levels of tow.
This can be further intensified when playing fish.

A crucian carp as an added bonus.

A goodbye fish at sunset. The weather is still hot, but the lights are going out.

BI’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that with a good bolognese rod at hand any kind of problem can be solved. I can reach tiny small streams and mighty rivers. I play the best game in the world, and I want it to last forever.

In angling success and performance are still measured in kilos, however, one should always consider the conditions. When I have to hold back my bait to get a bite and lead my float near the weeds that are in the middle of the water, even a pretty roach can make me happy. You can’t do this with other methods, but with the bolognese method it comes naturally, and this is exactly the reason for its existence. Fortunately, many fish visited me during the test, so the debut of Tanaka was a success.

Time flies with my Tanaka. I stay as long as I can spot my float.

The Sun walks down slowly on its scarlet path, and I am still waiting for bites.

A Perfect Match: ET Wizard Classic 2,10 and Wizard Spin 3000

Under the colorful coat of this rod, you find a true workhorse. It is indeed a slim rod made of IM8 carbon with enough power in reserve. The neoprene handle is a delight to touch. During fishing, the rod becomes your elongated forearm, which helps you detect every shy bite and vibration of your lure. Although it is a strong fishing rod, it is not heavy at all. Yes, I am talking about the latest spinning rod family of Energo Team, namely, Wizard Classic Jig and Drop Shot rods. The...

In my previous article, I mentioned that Drop Shot rods are one of my favorites, and their performance cannot be overestimated. This might sound biased, but trust me; I know what I’m talking about. After months of using these rods, I can safely say that they satisfy all my needs when it comes to ultra light spinning. Fishing with little soft baits cannot be more enjoyable, and, of course, let’s not forget about wobblers either. I’m not exaggerating –...

Learning more about Nase and Rubin Bolo Rods
Published: 2015. October 19. | Source: Halmos Mihály | News

t Nowadays, it is not easy for a new Bolognese rod to make a name for itself. It should be either at a reasonable price or of outstanding quality to win anglers’ sympathy. Unfortunately, these two criteria rarely meet. Energo Team’s Rubin Bolo has been widely used for years not just by Hungarian but foreign anglers, too. However, ET Nase Bolo, which made its debut in spring 2015, is considered a novelty.   Rubin Bolo is a real workhorse. Nase Bolo,...

The Champion family

The new Champion family has recently been introduced to the public. On the bags you find Szilárd Szilvási’s name, so we asked the European champ what we should know about these products.   CHAMPION GROUNDBAITS I use mostly my own groundbaits, believe it or not, even in fishing tournaments! It is the micro granules that make Champion Mix unique. Through a special process I’ve managed to create a groundbait that consists of mostly...
